Braided Preforms

FMI Textiles has an extensive background in design and fabrication of braided structures for composite applications. Our array of braiding machines ranges from 8 carrier to 288 carrier capacity with capability to fabricate biaxial and triaxial sleeving as well as over-braided mandrels for subsequent composite processing. Our proprietary carrier technology has been developed specifically for high modulus carbon and ceramic fibers. Our unique 3D braiding technology enables multilayer braided structures with through thickness reinforcement between each layer.
